About the brand

Blenheim Palace Triathlon is one of the UK's most iconic mass participation sporting events, set within the grounds of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drawing thousands of participants and spectators each year, the event sits at a unique intersection of elite sport, heritage and family entertainment - a combination that makes it unlike any other triathlon on the calendar.

The approach

The approach

The existing identity had served its purpose but was showing its limitations; heavy on traditional triathlon intensity, light on warmth and accessibility. For an event that welcomes everyone from first-timers to seasoned athletes, and families as much as competitors, the visual language wasn't keeping up with the ambition.

The rebrand centred on the palace itself as the creative foundation. Architectural shapes drawn directly from Blenheim's windows, doors and archways (rectangles, arches and circles) became the building blocks of a flexible design system. A new colour palette of pink, yellow, teal and blue replaced the previous red, white and black, introducing energy and openness without losing the prestige of the setting.

The result

The result

The rebrand rolled out across print and digital touchpoints ahead of the event, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from both participants and visitors. The new identity was described as inviting, distinctive and perfectly suited to its setting, a meaningful shift for an event that had previously felt closed off to anyone outside the core triathlon community.
